Vintage Book Baby Shower

Our very dear friend, Aunt Lynn, is having a baby and it could be the most anticipated baby of the year! My friend Michelle and I were so thrilled to put together a baby shower that she would love. We decided on a vintage book themed shower since Aunt Lynn is a teacher. Of course, I started with a Pinterest board and we went from there. Michelle was able to make this invitation. I found this one on Pinterest (It didn't have an original source) and she changed the colors to pink and brown. She even found those old school holders that are found in the back of library books. Needless to say, the invitations were perfect!!
I only made one small craft. We kept the decoration simple and pretty; lots of fresh flowers and old vintage books. I did see these book flowers and had to make some. The tutorial can be found here.

When the guests arrived, they brought a book instead of a card. We had a station set up where the guests could get a sticker and write a note to the baby. Kelli at Seasonal Delights made these amazing stickers and they were perfect!! Her etsy shop can be found here.

The decorations were simple and pretty. Book flowers and vintage parenting books.

Stella helped me do most of the setting up while the boys spent the day at Kennedy Space Center.

The cake was from Publix and the amazing cake decorator made this adorable stack of books. I basically told her the colors were pink and brown and the theme was vintage books. She created this masterpiece. I love the Dr. Seuss quote: "The more you read, the more things you will know. The more you learn, the more places you will go." Enjoy the journey with baby Joss!

We were under strict instructions: NO GAMES. Ha! Well, we had to do just one 'activity' that we thought was not too 'baby shower-ish'. I found this on the internet (and I can not remember where). The guests were given piles of nickels and we read the below items. If they had done those things, they put a nickel in a piggy bank for the baby. It turned out cute:)

Guest left with these funky bookmarks (made by Michelle). We stuck with the book theme until the end:)

Michelle, Aunt Lynn and me.

The radiant mama!
