Crazy Christmas Lights

These are pictures of this one house that we visit each year here in Orlando. It is amazing! They use between 100,000 and 110,000 lights to cover every single inch of their house!!!

We have a handful of Christmas traditions that we do each year. We started a new one by going to Light up UCF, we saw our crazy Christmas lights and tonight we went to see the snow in Celebration!

I (of course) forgot my camera so all I have are pictures from my phone. The kids had so much fun! James did not know what to think about the snow!

We played in the snow, had a nice dinner and took an amazing horse drawn carriage ride around downtown Celebration. Great family fun!!

Mickey Ears

My sister Megan bought these Mickey ears for the kids during her last visit down. Well, Stella and James were playing with them and now James will. not. take. them. off. He wants to wear them in the bath, to bed...everywhere:)

Look at his face. No Mama!

Thank You

Dear Mama-

Thank you for greeting me every morning with a smile. Thank you for rocking me slowly while I wake up. Thank you for keeping my butt clean. Thank you for feeding me breakfast every morning. Thank you for putting my juice in the cup that I like. Thank you for giving me milk in my special cup. Thank you for peeling the fruit because I do not like the peel. Thank you for packing my lunch. Thank you for teaching me new words. Thank you for reading the same book as many times as I want. Thank you pretending to ‘get me’. Thank you for tickling my belly. Thank you for letting me climb up the stairs even though it would be faster if you carried me. Thank you for getting me dressed. Thank you for playing with me. Thank you for picking an amazing nanny to stay with me when you are gone. Thank you for getting me my favorite ‘baby fish’ snack. Thank you for laughing it off when I drive you crazy. Thank you for letting me play with the broom…I love that and I know I usually make more of a mess. Thank you for giving me a warm bath. Thank you for rocking me. Thank you for saying goodnight to the truck and lights and helicopter and trees and ‘two moons’. Thank you for kissing Mick and Baby Mick….I love them. Thank you for loving me.

Lets do it all again tomorrow!

It Takes a Village

three birthdays parties
final papers
overnight at grandma's
grocery shopping

Phew! Our weekend was packed! The kids are sound asleep and I have a second to sit and surf the internet (instead of grading the last of my final papers).

It took a village to accomplish everything this weekend and I am so lucky to have the friends I do in my life:)

Moms of Multiples are Freaks of Nature

I had to steal this from Sarah....It is so accurate......

Light Up UCF

We wanted to see Santa tonight so we decided to go see him at Light Up UCF. I had never been before so I didn't know what to expect but we had fun!

The kids went on the carousel. Jojo loved the "horse"!

We all went on the ferris wheel. James did not know what to think.

Pretty Bunny!

Thomas checking out the view...

The view was great! The campus looked pretty all lit up and you could see the other rides.

The last ride the kids went on was the "choo-choo".

If you look really closely, you will see Thomas and Stella riding the reindeer in the front.

There was also an ice slide which the twins LOVED! We did get to see Santa (no line!!) and Stella asked for lip gloss and Thomas asked for Bakugan's. James sat Santa's lap no problem!

Fun night:) We still have a couple more Christmas traditional events to go see...We always visit this one house with crazy Christmas lights and I would like to see the snow in Celebration.

Such a fun month!!

Mother/Son Dance

Tonight was the Mother/Son Disco Dance at school! Thomas had such a great outfit....he looked like such a disco boy!

We were both looking forward to this dance all week long.

When we got there, something strange happened. I saw Thomas get overwhelmed with the newness of the situation (the lights, the music, not having his friends at his side) and he shut down. He did not want to dance and when his friends arrived, he did not want to hang out with them.

That is not like Thomas at all!

He finally asked me if we could go home. We left but I suggested some hot chocolate, Christmas lights and just spending some time together. He actually cried.

The hot chocolate turned his spirits around and we ended up having such a nice time riding around, talking and looking at lights. I made sure he knew that ultimately the night was all about a mother and son spending time together and we did that.

It was very out of character to see Thomas get overwhelmed socially but a good reminder that he is a dynamic work in progress!!

When I said good night to him, he thanked me for such a fun night. I guess it was a good night after all:)
