Stella: Obviously you do.

Orlando Science Center

We took a family trip to the Orlando Science Center today. The twins have been there a million times before and they could not wait to show James around.

James checking out the alligators next to Stella.

Thomas showing James the baby turtles.

James loved, loved, loved the orange picking area. "Ball!" "Ball!" He could have stayed in this area all day long.

Stella and James waiting for story time.

James trying to sit with Thomas on the rocket. There is also a plane, train and multiple cars in this area and James was so busy!

I hope he sleeps well this afternoon:)

Bedtime was one of the things that I used to feel very anxious about right after James was born. How would it all work? It has turned into one of my favorite times.

James takes a bath and I lotion him up. As he takes his last feeding, he grabs for my glasses and touches my face. He has not learned that it is impolite to stare and he gazes into my eyes. He can bring me to tears. Stella and Thomas are taking showers now. They pop in and out of the nursery singing and kissing James. I hear them squealing with joy when Tony tries to 'get them'. James rests his head on my shoulder and rubs his eyes.

Night night Jo Jo

The curtains are drawn, nightlight on and he usually is asleep before I shut the door. The twins are getting their pjs on and cuddling with me and Tony.

Play rough Daddy

He tickles them at commercials during an iCarly episode. Off to bed. Thomas won't kiss on the mouth anymore. He puts his head down and lets me kiss his forehead. I hug him hard.

Stella wants her radio on and I know as soon as we are downstairs she will color or 'read' for awhile. Sometimes I find all of her dresses on her stuffed animals; she loves her time at night!

I go down to finish the kitchen and watch a show. Before I go to bed, I go to all of their rooms and they are fast asleep. My babies. I am acutely aware that this is what I will miss. When we are old and grey and everyone has left our house, I will think back to the years of chaos and ache for it.

So for now, I enjoy it!
I have been meaning to post this for my mom. Here you go Gigi:)

Meet the Teacher

Write down 'get batteries' in my planner....check!
Forget to get batteries...check!
Send Tony to go get batteries...check!
Forget to take a single picture....yep, check!

Tonight was Stella and Thomas' 'Meet the Teacher' at their school and I was excited to meet both teachers since this is the first year that they will be in separate classrooms. I think each teacher turned out to be a very good match for each child.

I would describe Thomas' teacher as warm, friendly and patient. Thomas also said she was pretty (which she was!). She was a 'warm and fuzzy' person and seems very sweet...all characteristics that Thomas responds really well to.

I would describe Stella's teacher as energetic, creative and smart. She had a nautical theme in her classroom complete with a big sailboat! She was interacting with the kids and seemed dramatic and entertaining. All characteristics that Stella responds really well to.

I guess we will see if my first impressions hold true but it is starting off as a wonderful school year:)

Lunch Blog

I think this may be my best lunch of last week. I think it 'looks' the most like the other bento lunches I have looked at. I have all my lunch posts here now:)

Side Blog

Some people may or may not have been thinking that my lunch posts have been somewhat geeky.

Well, I am still on a lunch packing kick. I can't promise that it will last but as long as I am motivated, I am going to post pictures. Yes, of my kiddos lunch!

You can find all of my very interesting pictures here.

Week in Review: Bento Lunches

I only have one more week of summer camp but I think this has been good practice for the school year. I am getting better at knowing what we need to have on hand. I never stopped by my favorite dollar store to look for some bento supplies because this week ended up being a bit busier than I expected. This is what I ended up with:)

Monday's lunch for the twins:

Turkey 'taco' (turkey with mustard rolled up on flattened bread), hummus for dipping, teddy graham crackers, yogurt with blueberries and strawberries, and some cucumber slices and grape tomatoes.

James' lunch:

Cut up turkey, teddy graham crackers with sesame sticks, yogurt with berries and cut up cucumbers and tomatoes.

Twins lunch for Tuesday:

I was trying to make American sushi which I saw on a couple bento blogs but it turned out messy. The kids still loved it. But in this one we have peanut butter on flattened bread, sesame sticks, yogurt raisins, sliced cucumbers with grape tomatoes, blueberries, strawberries and peaches.

James' lunch:

Cut up turkey, sesame sticks, yogurt with blueberries, strawberries and peaches and cut up cucumber and tomatoes.

No lunches on Wednesday because the twinlets went on a field trip. But for your viewing enjoyment, here is James with his bento:

James is okay using my pink bento until I order one for him and one for Daddy!

Thursday's lunch for the twins:

Peanut butter sandwich, blueberry muffin, sliced peaches, sliced peppers and cucumbers with hummus to dip.

James' lunch:

Turkey roll-ups, sesame sticks, yogurt with peaches, cut up peppers, cucumbers and tomatoes.

Twins lunch for Friday. (I was running really, really low on groceries.)

Two peanut butter and jelly cracker sandwiches, 1/3 of a fiber one bar, sliced cucumbers, spaghetti, mango pieces.

Jame' lunch

Spaghetti, mango pieces, applesauce and teddy graham crackers with 1/3 of a fiber one bar.
