Oh The Joys of Having a Sister

Eleven Months

So here we are at eleven months old. I think back to when it was difficult to have a baby and I can hardly remember.

James is in such a fun stage. He is standing and cruising around the house. No steps yet but it could be soon. He will dance to the news! He loves music. He has just started to wave.

He is smiley, happy baby even when the going gets tough. He says "car" and "dog" and "hi". He loves to eat and is trying to tell me he is too big for a bottle but I will not hear of it!

He is growing up so quickly! Sorry about the phone pictures. My laptop is in the shop and I can only upload pics from my phone.

Happy Birthday Tony!

Wishing my wonderful husband a very Happy Birthday today!!!

Do you know what James is saying in this picture? He is saying: Do not come near me with that bottle. I will only eat solid food. I am too old to have a bottle and I will not drink it anymore.

Have you ever heard of a baby not wanting a bottle? He is freaking me out!

Was I the only one underwhelmed with the episode?

This is what I have come up with. There appears to be some 'recruiting' going on by Jacob and Flocke/Smoke Monster. Flocke has Sawyer and Claire (gasp!) while Jacob has Hugo. So now I think we will see which way Kate, Jin, Sun, Ben and Jack go (Jacob vs. Flocke or good vs. evil). I have always thought that fate vs. free will was a major theme on the show and I now I think that we will see what each character chooses.

I was reading online and found this:

I want to propose my currently-running theory about the "flash sideways" we're watching every episode: that's actually the epilogue of Lost. We're watching the "end" of Lost play out without even being aware of it. No matter what happens on our "present" version of the Island (remember, the bomb didn't sink the Island), all of the characters will be connected going forward. If the characters on the Island are capable of resetting the time loop and changing things, that doesn't mean they'll never encounter each other. That doesn't mean they won't have a profound effect on each other's lives. It's possible the Lost writers have found a clever way to prevent an ABC-produced Lost epilogue by writing the epilogue themselves...secretly. (source)

I think I follow the 'flash sideways' theory. ??

Here are some of my random thoughts:

1. I love that Jacob is talking to Hugo...not sure why but I think Hugo is perfect for the job.

2. Claire is freaking me out! I really want her to shower and calm down and stop killing people. It was so creepy when Flocke walked in and she said, "This is my friend." You know there is going to be a Kate and Claire showdown.

3. Jack has a son, David? Did I know that or it that new? Who is the mom?

4. The numbers from the cave are also on the Lighthouse. Not even sure where to go with this one...

I hope next week is better than this week:(

James had to have some minor surgery last Thursday. He had a Orchiopexy. Papa drove over to help for the day and Grandma Stella was there to help too...and thank goodness. My little Jojo in a hospital gown...yuck! I had one moment when I thought I was not going to be able to let them take him. Yes, the surgery was more difficult on me:-)

Thursday was rough. My happy little guy was sore and uncomfortable and it was horrible not to be able to comfort him. However, with the twins at school all day we finally were able to get some rest.

I was not sure how Thursday night or Friday was going to go but James slept through the night and woke up on Friday as if nothing ever happened. Happy, jumping Jojo!! I am so relieved the surgery is over and he is feeling great!

The Substitute

I think I needed a day to process last nights episode of LOST. Now that I have had time to think about it, I enjoyed it. I like that we are moving forward and I do feel like I am getting some answers or moving towards some.

Last night was really about John Locke. I loved the parallel flipping between his life off the island and his life on the island and as the smoke monster. On the island, Flocke (fake Locke) meets up with Sawyer and they travel to Jacobs cave. When they both saw that young boy, I thought it was a boy version of Jacob but I am not sure if that is true. The young boy says, "You know you can't kill him"...was the boy taking about Flocke killing Jacob or Flocke killing Sawyer? I am also very curious to see how Richard fits into all of this.

Off the island, Locke is frustrated. However he manages to rise above those frustrations with the help of Rose (Yay!) and Helen (Yay!) and Hugo (Yay!). It makes my brain turn to mush to think of Locke on the island and then off but I am hanging in there.

Once they get to Jacobs cave, Sawyer sees all the names of the candidates that Jacob has chosen and somehow 'pulled' to the island. There is Locke, Hugo, Sawyer, Jin or Sun, Sayid and Jack. No Kate? I wonder why. And when Flocke drew a line through Locke's name...somehow I just do not believe it. I think Locke could be the candidate.

There were some great lines tonight too:

I'd better put some pants on! ~Sawyer

He was a much better man than I will ever be, and I'm sorry I murdered him. ~Ben

Jacob had a thing for numbers. ~Flocke

What Kate Does

Another LOST episode comes and goes.

Tonight we have Sayid, who is alive!! And we learn he has been 'infected' or 'claimed'. Now, remember Rousseau? She had said that members of her team had been 'infected' with the sickness. Could this be the same? I also think it was weird that the water in the natural springs was black and now Sayid has something dark inside of him. Is the smoke monster somehow related to all this too?

Speaking of Danielle Rousseau...didn't Claire at the very end look very Rousseau-esque? I was so happy to see pregnant Claire but so disappointed to hear that she too had been 'infected'. Ok, let me talk this through....Claire was sitting in the cabin with Christian. Christian is also infected? Christian is the one who told Locke to turn the wheel which then started the crazy time jumping. I have said it before, Christian is a major player in all this or at least his body is.

Back to as Kate jumps in the cab with Claire, Kate notices Jack outside and they seem to recognize each other. Claire shouts out Aaron's name? Creepy Ethan is the doctor?? It makes my head spin...I can not keep the time lines straight. I really think there should be cliff notes to refer back too:-)

And Kate. Must be nice to flip flop between Sawyer and Jack. She can not make up her mind! She follows Sawyer only to learn that Sawyer loves Juliet and was going to ask her to marry him. Poor Kate...back into Jacks arms.

Finally, I really thought Jim and Sun were going to see each other this episode. I hope it is soon. I love the two of them!!

Small Worries, Little Wonders

I was so worried about kindergarten. How would she do? Now she is reading, taking art classes and has a solo in the upcoming school musical performance. She has good friends and loves going to school each day.

He has always been a leader...Lets play this game, come follow me. How would my sweet boy do being exposed to the world of public school? He loves it! They get these dollars if they are caught doing something 'good'. Thomas has ten of them saved up. He went to the dollar store at school and came home with a giant truck for James. Yep, still sweet!

They will go into different classrooms for first grade. They need to. All day at school and then all day at home. They need some time apart. Except the last thing they want is time apart from each other. Friends come over to play and I can see the confusion...why don't all kids understand these games we make up. I am not sure if they realize how connected they really are.

The new kid on the block. Will he feel left out? Not being a twin? Au contraire! He explores the house while they are at school and then enjoys the chaos when they get home. He looks like a little Republican Senator who should be wearing a sweater vest and bow tie.

Our lives are made
In these small hours
These little wonders
These twists and turns of fate
Time falls away
But these small hours
These small hours
Still remain

Wow! Wow! Wow!

I was so excited for the premier of the sixth and final season of LOST. I will admit that I slid a bit last season...I missed a couple shows at the end. To my defense, I did have a NEWBORN! But, I think I am all caught up and ready to take in this last season.

I am not sure where to begin. I understand the story line with Jack on the airplane. They all make it to LAX and still their lives will cross because their experience on the island was so powerful...they can not completely wipe it out. And....I understand the story line with Jack on the island. The bomb went off and it did not work. However....I have NO idea how the two story lines are linked:-) I am assuming by Juliet's words from the grave ("It worked") that it has to do with some crazy time travel that I can not wrap my brain around.

Here are some of my highlights:

1. I did not think I could like the mean Locke any more than I liked the original Locke. He has always been such an interesting character and WOW! That look he gave once he was the mean Locke/smoke monster. Wow! Creepy!!

2. I think there is something pretty significant about Jacob and the Man in Black (MIB) and Richard not aging. Also, Jacob was in white and the MIB was in black in the beginning of the episode. I think we have a classic good vs. evil situation going on. However, I was surprised to find out that MIB could take the form of a person. The MIB/smoke monster was now in John Locke's body so is Jacob in someones body? Maybe Sayid?

3. I loved the scene in the airport between Locke and Jack when Locke lost his luggage. They have been at odds on the island for so long, it was nice to see them get along.

4. I loved seeing Charlie and Claire!! Yeah:-)

5. I am so happy Sun and Jin are in the same time. I can not wait for those two to see each other.

6. The temple...was that always there? I can not remember seeing it before??

7. Christian! Oh Christian is a big power player in all this...but I have no idea how yet. Christian is the reason Ben went and rounded up Jack and Kate, etc. Was that really Christian or was he the MIB or something? Also, his coffin never makes it to LAX...hmmm....strange.

Well we were promised some answers and I think the only one that I can think of is that the mean Locke is the smoke monster/MIB.

This is going to be an amazing season!! For links to all blogs related to LOST check out Rocks in my Dryer!
