End of the Year Assessment

These were my 2008 resolutions...I want to take a look at how I did.

Financial Goals:
1. I will increase our savings/investments by 10%. I increased our investments by 10% but not our savings.
2. I will pay all of my bills when they come in and not procrastinate. Mission accomplished!

Physical Health:
1. I will lose X amount of weight this year. (I know the number of pounds I would like to lose but I am not willing to share it yet.) Actually, I gained weight but only because I am almost 7 months pregnant. It looks like 2009 will be my year to lose weight.
2. I will get our family eating whole foods (raw if possible) for as many meals as possible. I have done better but need to continue with this goal.

Beauty:
1. I will regularly take care of my hair, eyebrows, nails and toes. Failed miserably. I will say I have a great salon that is close to my house and does a great job with my hair....but it is safe to say that my four year old daughter has had more pedicures this year than I have.
2. I will only buy clothes that will last and not clothes that are on sale. (Although clothes that will last AND on sale would be great!) Failed miserably. I still have a very hard time spending money on clothes for me.

Emotional Health:
1. I will forgive my family. Really forgive and move on. Boy, this felt good to do!!
2. I will take more time with my husband. As my friend Lynn pointed out, he really loves me and likes to spend time with me. Done...although this is really ongoing.

Mind:
1. I will read books that are not related to the field of speech language pathology. Done
2. I will mentor Kelly during her CFY and take the time to learn something new. Done

Overall, 2008 was an amazing year....stay tuned for some 2009 goals:-)

Name Possibilities?

I am stealing an idea from my beautiful cousin Erika. She has these name polls on her blog for her little one due in July (you should check them out and vote).

Sooooo.....look to the right and vote on Baby Boy's first name and middle name. Also, I am open to suggestions. Just leave them in the comment section. We tend to like classic, old fashion names and want Baby Boy's name to go with "Stella" and "Thomas". In case you were wondering, I am torn between Henry and James as my first choice and love, love, love Frances as a middle name. Tony's first choice may be Benjamin now and he prefers Xavier as a middle name (both Frances and Xavier are family names we want to use).

Let me know what you think!

Craft Geek!

Santa brought Stella all sorts of craft supplies: markers, colored pencils, craft sticks, googly eyes, glue sticks, etc.

He forgot to bring something to organize it all!! So today we went over to our craft store and found this...ta da!!

I am such a geek. I love, love, love organizing and this just made my day:-)

Isn't it pretty??

It spins and holds everything!! Look...

Yes, I am a geek that took a video of her daughters new craft organizer!!

Christmas!

Phew! The last two days have been such a whirlwind!! We started our celebration by attending the family Christmas eve service at our church. Our family was asked to light the Advent Candle. The twins even had to say a line in front of everyone!

Then we headed over to Grandma Stella's and Grandpa Kerry's where the spoiling officially began.

We headed home so that Santa could finish wrapping some presents:-) Tony and I were up and just waiting for the kids on Christmas morning. They slept until 7:45!! Thomas said, "Momma, we were on the good list!"

We caught Thomas' expression when he opened Ultimate Stunt World!!

And finally we drove over to Tampa to see Papa and Gigi. And yes, the spoiling continued there too:-)

We made it back home last night at 10pm and we all fell into bed! Phew! What a very Merry Christmas we had surrounded by friends and family!!

Living Nativity

We participated in our church's living nativity again this year. Look at this handsome shepard and peaceful angel:

Catching Up

We have been so busy catching up with friends! First our Lynn came over to deliver some presents before she left for Maine!

I think this is when I really started to feel festive....watching the kids expression when they opened gifts:-)

Then over the weekend, I was able to get together with my friend Kimmie and her three boys. Here we are last year...

...and then again this year. Let me tell you how hard it is to get five children to stand still and pose:-)

And finally the twins were cold-free and could visit new baby Avery!

Do these two look like they are ready to be big brothers and sisters?? I hope so:-)

Little Reindeer

Today was the Holiday Program at the twins school. Their teacher asked for them to wear red and green.

Look at my little elves!

Once again a hug turns into a headlock:-)

Their class performed "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer". They got off to a shaky start but once they hit the chorus, they came together. Stella is on the bottom right of this video and Thomas is in the top left. I actually think I can hear Stella's voice!

'Tis the Season

Today was parent observation day at Stella's dance studio....no more pictures taken from a mirror; today I had a front row seat!!

Stella loves her dance class and her teacher is so good with her age group!

Oh yes, it is the return of the sparkly blue headband too!!

After running around to do some Christmas shopping, we headed over to Grandma Stella's house for a tree trimming party. Thomas loved the idea of hanging all the ornaments.

Stella mostly loved the idea of posing in front of the tree:-)

'Tis the season for family and fun!

Christmas Traditions

It has been so fun beginning traditions around the holidays with the kids. One of our favorite traditions is driving around to see Christmas lights. We always stop to get hot chocolate and then off we go.

There is one house in particular that we go to every year. This couple have their entire house lit up! They use between 100,000 and 110,000 lights to cover every single inch of their house.

The kids get so excited when we turn the corner and see the house for the first time. And then we get out and you are able to walk around. Their garage is converted into a Santa display and you can even look at their four Christmas trees inside their house.

You can see some of the pictures from last year here.

Snow in Florida??

Tonight we drove down to Celebration to see the snow! The kids loved trying to catch it!

We ate dinner, listened to Christmas music and even took a train ride!

It was beautiful and it was nice to see the snow and still be wearing short sleeves:-) It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

Six Random Facts

I was tagged by Jenn over at Patience is a Virtue!!

First, the tagging game's rules:
Link to the person who tagged you.

Post the rules on your blog.
Write 6 random things about yourself.
Tag 6-ish people at the end of your post.
Let each person know he/she has been tagged.
Let the tagger know when your entry is up.

OK... 6 totally random things about me:

1. I am an unusually good parallel parker. Several people have doubted my abilities while in the passenger seat and I always come through. My husband has been very, very impressed with this ability.

2. I hate to pump gas. I actually have run out of gas on several occasion because I will not stop at a gas station. I am not sure if this will ever change.

3. I am freakishly calm in a crisis. I wish my friend Neeti read my blog because we used to laugh about it all the time in college. I will also say, this quality has come in handy as a mom.

4. I love to plan parties, especially my children's birthday parties. I get in to it waaayyyy more than anyone should!

5. My hair used to be straight. It always had some wave to it but after I gave birth FOUR YEARS AGO....my hair is now curly.

6. Speaking of changes after giving birth, I have a lot of trouble sleeping. I never used to but now I am up a couple times a night. And...that is currently the reason I have time to blog;-)

Now I will tag:

1. Shannon from Sunshine and Momma

2. Tina from Complacent Crab

3. Kelly from Not All Together

4. Erika from Kai's Page

5. Jen from Coconut Belly

6. Candace from Not That I Don't Love My Kids
